GovSpendTracker

Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 31, 2026

GovSpendTracker (govspendtracker.com) is a dashboard that aggregates publicly available government spending and economic data. You can browse the entire site without an account. This policy describes the small amount of personal data we handle when you choose to sign in.

Information we collect

If you sign in with Google, Google shares your basic profile with us: your name, email address, and profile picture. We do not receive your Google password, contacts, or any other Google account data. If you never sign in, we collect no personal information from you beyond standard server access logs (IP address, requested page, timestamp), which we use for security and operations.

How we use it

Your name, email, and picture are used solely to authenticate you and show that you are signed in. We do not sell personal data, share it with advertisers, or use it for marketing.

Where it is stored

We do not keep a database of user accounts. After you sign in, your session is stored in an encrypted cookie in your own browser and is verified by our server on each request. Signing out deletes that cookie.

Cookies

We use only the cookies required for sign-in to work: a session cookie, a CSRF protection cookie, and short-lived cookies used during the Google sign-in handshake. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and no cookies are set at all unless you sign in.

Third parties

Sign-in is provided by Google and is subject to Google's own privacy policy. The statistical data shown on this site comes from public government and international organization APIs (e.g. World Bank, IMF, national statistics agencies) and contains no personal information.

Your choices

Signing out removes your session. You can also revoke GovSpendTracker's access to your Google profile at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Because we store no account data server-side, revoking access and signing out removes everything associated with you.
